Volume 14 picks up where previous volumes left off in terms of the abundance of artists who have formulated brilliant, courageous, and surprising approaches and perspectives for a wide variety of functions, themes, and challenges in the public realm. In one case, within the framework of two temporary group projects, the locations of Semmering and Traiskirchen—each with their own specific history and current situations as well as social issues that go along with this—were foregrounded by international artists in a sensitive and complex way. Furthermore, the culture of remembrance, the revitalization of town centers, art in architecture, art in the context of health care centers, and landmarks are just some of the issues in this book for which outstanding solutions have been found through unusual, well-considered, and lasting projects.
